In our school, we are very proud to offer Nursery provision within our Early Years Foundation Stage, in a class team we call Venus. Children come into our provision the term following their third birthday. Our Nursery provision works within a unit where the children are taught alongside the Reception class. This page aims to give you information about our setting, however should you require more information please don’t hesitate to contact us.
At Tadcaster Primary Academy, we work in partnership with every family to enable children to flourish through play in a caring, happy, stimulating and safe environment. We very much hope that you and your child will enjoy your time here. It is essential that the children are given every opportunity to fulfil their potential and as a parent, you play a vitally important role. We hope to play our part by offering your child a variety of experiences and activities designed to further their individual development.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage is led by Mr Foster who is an experienced Early Years teacher and is also our Assistant Headteacher. He is supported by a dedicated team: Mrs Roche and Miss Ambler.
We use the app ‘Tapestry’ to communicate with parents. On Tapestry we share weekly information about the learning taking place in school and we also put some photos on here of your children carrying out their learning. We encourage families to share what your child is learning at home via Tapestry as well.
You may have chosen for your child to stay for lunch. Available meal choices are on Appetite which we will ensure all Parents have passwords for to enable them to access their account. We ask that you choose your meal choice prior to 12pm the day before as the meal booking window closes at this point. If your child prefers to have their own packed lunch they can, however we also provide sandwiches and jacket potatoes as an alternative to the daily hot school meal choice.
Morning session 9:00am – 12:00pm. Afternoon session 12:00pm – 3:00pm.
Please note: we charge an additional £2.00 for your child to stay from 3.00pm to 3.30pm however you are welcome to collect your child at 3pm.

The government provides 15 hours of free childcare per week for all three and four year olds. Three and four year olds, whose parents work, could be eligible for up to 30 hours of free childcare per week during term time. Click here for more information on Childcare Choices for more info.
Tadcaster Primary Academy Nursery runs two sessions per day. Our nursery children join ‘Team Venus’ which is made up of Reception and Nursery children. Please note there is a maximum of 13 places to be offered on a first-come, first served basis for Nursery children. It is parents’ choice to which 3 hours sessions they wish to attend. This is available during term time only.
