What a year!
What a fantastic year it has been at Tadcaster Primary Academy! With a new school name in September, becoming a member of the Ebor Academy Trust family, Purple being the ‘in colour’ for our school uniform, a fantastic trip to Kingswood in September, Christmas fun with the grotto and showtime a plenty, and an inspirational Martin Luther King day it was a brilliant start to the year.
Since Easter it has definitely been very busy, with goodbyes to Mrs Bedford and Mrs Poole, welcome to Miss Towler, a new computer system to carry out our registers and monitor attendance, a new parent communication system – ParentHub, two parent forums and a new style weekly newsletter to improve communication. We also took delivery of 30 new Chromebooks to help the children improve their computing skills. Trips to Farmer Carl’s farm, the Great Harrogate Showground for Countryside Day, the British Library at Thorp Arch, swimming for team Saturn, and a ‘Moving on Service’ at St Mary’s Church all took place. Lots of TPAC hard work was carried out with ‘Fun for a Fiver’ night, Sports Day with Minster FM and our Year 6 leavers’ celebration. We also enjoyed two cracking performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and a great Team Saturn dance project with the help of professional dancers from York Dance Space. The last few weeks have seen school achieve fantastic KS2 SAT results with some of the best in the local area and nationally. We also saw 100% of our Y1 children pass their phonics screener test and 80% of our Early Years pupils achieve a Good Level of Development (GLD).
Wow! It really has been a great year. Of course none of this would have been possible without the dedication and passion from our staff team, TPAC, volunteers, school Governors and our parent community. We thank each and every member of our school community. Tadcaster Primary Academy truly is the best!
